We received a message from John, an old friend of the family and former colleague of Jan from the time they worked at the Unilever Research lab in Vlaardingen… decades ago!
John has always remained in close contact with Jan and the family:
A vacation in Austria, where we all went skiing
Carnaval in Millingen, approximately 1974-1975 with Christian (an angel) and Isabelle (an indian) dressed up in costumes. There were large rose bushes along the pathway on the right and these are non-existent, so this was right after or shortly after our relocation to Germany in 1973.
John also helped with the relocation of Jan and Peggy to Fumel in 2003. They packed a small truck with all their belongings and drove down South to arrive in Condat and unload. BBQs in the yard of an empty house, make-shift beds and eating on garden furniture.
